Still You Held My Hand
You held my hand and asked me to dance
We danced and you held my hand
You didn’t look into my eyes
- Still you held my hand
My fingers gently caressed your back
You were aware of my barest touch
You didn’t look into my eyes
- Still you held my hand
We danced again, my touch grew stronger
You wanted it to, you whispered
You didn’t look into my eyes
- Still you held my hand
We danced together in the crowd
There was no crowd just us
We danced together you and I
- And still you held my hand
I wondered what may come
I wished for what may happen
You wanted to, you whispered
As still - you held my hand
Your touch I felt so gently
At first I wasn’t sure
And then your touch came stronger
- You wanted to
I heard you whisper to yourself
I understood your reasons
You wanted to, you whispered
As still - you held my hand
Our lips came close together
And just before they touched
You wanted to - you whispered
As still - you held my hand
Your lips touched mine so briefly
You wanted to - you would
Your lips met mine so softly
You wanted to - you could
We looked into each other’s eyes
You wanted to - you couldn’t
We looked into each other’s eyes
You wanted to - you wouldn’t
