Still You

I want to write about something... Anything, that is not you About you Feelings for you Or anything remotely close to you But try as I may, you still become that 'thing' There must be something I need to say Or maybe something I need to do I can't say or do it though Because I can't figure it out either way I feel emotionless My face stares blankly at my page as I twirl my pen Inside I know there are words longing to be freed I try to shake you from me so I can focus But it's hopeless Maybe I do just feel nothing... I doubt it though But maybe I doubt too much Stuck on looking for the pattern I know to repeat But maybe the pattern has changed Or something... Since when did feeling fine become so odd? Like I expect to feel pain I guess we have reached a new path A new pattern The rocky road now paved makes walking easier Not hand in hand, but side by side Like friends... with no strings
