Still Paying

I seized the moment, sure I’d repay it in kind. What’s a hint of regret for what I thought I needed to burn? Now the burden grows, sleepless nights interest is accruing. The cost never diminishes, but the memory of the flame is a vapor, and yet, I still pay.
