Steps Beyond Stagnation
Inertia's whispered promise: stagnation's dark shroud
We risk being lost in the undertow of untaken steps
Not all of us will wear the mantle of wealth
But inaction's chill grasp, we can all be poor
Education's radiant light may not illuminate every path
Yet, without effort, ignorance's heavy chains can bind us all
Love's sacrament, marriage, may elude some of us
But indifference's corrosive whisper can reduce relationships to ash
Brilliance may not be our birthright
Yet, complacency's suffocating grip can extinguish the spark within
Heaven's gates may not swing open for all
But the abyss of neglect and apathy can drag us down to hell's dark depths
Defeat's stinging lash may not scar us all
Yet, inaction's numbing poison can render us powerless, lost, and forlorn
Hunger's pangs may not afflict every belly
But the barren landscape of neglected dreams can leave us withering, unfulfilled
We may not all wield presidential power
But the withering sting of irrelevance can reduce us to anonymity's grey veil
We may not all be solution bearers
But inaction's weighty burden can condemn us to be part of the problem, forever lost
We may not all bear the title of teacher
But without growth, we risk being forever trapped in the quicksand of ignorance
We may not all be blessed with children
But neglect's devastating whisper can leave us bereft, our legacy lost
In every step, in every breath, let us choose action
Let us shatter the chains of inertia, and forge a brighter path.
