Star's Melody

When songbirds croon along the bay
    To cast a dusted star of teal ,
 I then recall a summer flame
  Which wrote about our truth, our dare :

And young we were ...a bliss reviewed
  The wildest lips moist as night's crest;
       A passion christening one vow
  While tinselled glow blessed this request.

    We siezed youth's hunger ...hours entwined
 Where  cooing jays acted like hosts ;
     Yet tunes grew stark like omen dark
 More vicious than two hearts on edge.

So now I hear night's melody--
     The bay older than ardor past
    A time when seventeen grew frail
         Held by one gentle... gentle star.

You took me to youthful flames, pairing, daring while naive in grown up skin, and, of course, in natures dark. This "tunes grew stark like omen dark" I fell in love with. The entire poem is entirely beautiful.
