Starling

Little starling,

   perched in your woody heights,

   kneading thy wet wings,

   and gloating with song -----

Then flying off to some far shore:

Is it envy that I feel?

'...kneading thy wet wings,' and '...gloating with song' super phrasing I wouldn't normally associate with the starling. BRAVO my friend! Best wishes, Keith

Hello Keith, to feel and observe such beauty would bring envy upon me too. A wonderful poem to share. To have wings and feel free would be amazing.... LINDA

Man often wishes to fly like the birds. To have that freedom at a moment's notice. Envy of greater freedom must be weighed against the shorter life and lesser understanding of life be it man or beast. Great and deep write my friend--Super 7 from me..A7
