Starlight and Moonbeams

Lay me down
to sleep...
For, in my dreams
I fly in starlight and moonbeams

Silver and gold
All hanging by a sleeping thread
My dreams, spread
My dreams, to hold

Moonbeams...
A pillow, to rest my head
Starlight...
A soft comfortable bed,
in which the dreams I come to know

The colour, entwined
Silver and gold
That only my dreams I can find

Where will I be tonight?
I do not know...
For, as soon as my head touches the pillow
Silver and gold...
To carry me far
To a world filled with starlight
To a world filled with moonbeams
The colour of my dreams
