Stargazing
I gaze upon the velvet sky
Where stars are just a flicker to the eye
One seems brighter than the rest
Perhaps it's Mercury, glowing in the west
Venus too is seen above
It twinkles like the god of love
Each star I see leaves me in awe
Was that Jupiter I just saw?
Closer yet is the silver moon
In crescent mode or shining full
It conducts the celestial tune
The boundless sea feels its pull
The night sky is full of wonder
Its awe and beauty makes us ponder
On the splendour of the universe
As through the galaxies the stars disperse
