Star Baby Lullaby
See me baby
My eyes gather teardrops so quickly
Each tear the lost perfect in me
I am blinded by expectations
Only you can help me see
Baby, the brightness you retrieve
Is the gift that I receive
From your luminosity
“My shining starlight
Always guiding me
Yea yea”
Nothing, nothing
with you baby can compare
Within my soul and eyes I see
You meet all my expectations
only starlight sets me free
For Geraldine Taylor’s Shining Starlight Contest.
Thanks for the inspiration. I hope I understood the rules. I looked at this from a parent’s perspective. Our children help us travel beyond this realm. “Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight!” Our children are the stars we wish upon.
