Star Baby Lullaby

See me baby My eyes gather teardrops so quickly Each tear the lost perfect in me I am blinded by expectations Only you can help me see Baby, the brightness you retrieve Is the gift that I receive From your luminosity “My shining starlight Always guiding me Yea yea” Nothing, nothing with you baby can compare Within my soul and eyes I see You meet all my expectations only starlight sets me free For Geraldine Taylor’s Shining Starlight Contest. Thanks for the inspiration. I hope I understood the rules. I looked at this from a parent’s perspective. Our children help us travel beyond this realm. “Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight!” Our children are the stars we wish upon.

Hi Rick, - becoming a parent makes us realize how wonderful life is and how do others we wonder, choose not to have children - the joy and harmony they bring to a home is simply non comparable to anything in life. A wonderful poem - good luck in the contest, for me this is a win! Hugs, Jennifer.

I thought it was a given that we were supposed to make the words tally with the melody though this was not always the case. You, however had good lyrics and also achieved this criteria,Richard. Congratulations on your win and I really appreciated the explanation you provided alongside the poem.

Richard , I kind of went that same way with the theme, making the star light be from a person. Loved this, especially this line: Baby, the brightness you retrieve Is the gift that I receive From your luminosity

Hi Richard, Your lyrics moved and touched me deeply. With tears in my eyes, I say well done. Nothing compares to the love a parent has for their child. In my book it's a winner. I wish you the best of luck in the contest:-)Alexis

Lovely write Rich . . . as always. True and heartfelt! I am wondering Rich if I may use some of your kind comments on poems I've written earlier? As I am publishing a poetry book of my own in about a month . . . I will understand if you'd rather not as lots of people like to remain anonymous! But here's hoping!!! lol Didn't know how to contact you but this way mate, Peter!
