I have always been in love with the idea of love.

How the light would be brighter and skies more blue,

birds singing and flowers all over the mountains.

But then I saw you and your eyes so full of darkness

and I found comfort in the stars

and I fell for the never-ending night

and I loved the winter of your heart.

to love someone winter heart is a great support... Nice first post.. This was not really a contest, it was an opportunity to showcase your first poem and I am glad you entered. Thank you.

This is such a beautiful and stirring poem, Morgana. The reality of love can be far different from the fantasy. Exquisitely expressed. Congratulations for your wonderful placement in John's contest. Warmest wishes always.. ~Susan

Nice write Morgana, this should place higher but contest rules state minimum 10 lines, good to read the rules before entering!
