Stand Up

Blood lubricates the chains The only sound alongside muffled cries In pain A sideways glance Before you look away Pretending you saw nothing Ignore the cracks So that your life remains picturesque While millions suffer Welcome to the stars and stripes Where beatings make you see stars And chains leave you with stripes The chains are subtle But they are felt by millions Don't be afraid to stand up
