Stand Firm In Troubled Times
Life is never easy as hard knocks hit hard
inevitably as knocks are in your walk
learning to deal with them is the key
don't get knocked out be as a rock
My mind goes way back to 1984
having been working for 11 years
at a confection firm which really enjoyed
but redundancy came down with some fears
There I was facing unemployed with no job
but felt peace within God was real
down deep-felt conviction to stand firm
the Lord's presence really I did feel
As time proved God was faithful
before job closed I received good news
new job to start on the next week
be faithful to Jesus so you can't lose
( I have written this looking back on being made redundant for the first time in 1984 and how I was able to stand firm during these difficult says trusting in the grace of God)
