Stained Glass Window

All that was left were remnants
of shattered memories ~ emblazoned
      in my mind,
as if it was all still there,
when Sunday salvation was
at peace with the sun
and sermons of love were
     bled in glass...
now shards on the chapel floor,
and, like sand castles on the shore
were washed away in an angry tide
where waning life stained the sand
     crimson red...
and lead was rained in bullets,
not to frame etherial light.

Sacrifice has an ambience of more
   than just ~ pretty colors...

This is absolutely gorgeous dear Craigsz, I love the way you paint imagery in such a soul warming manner... the opening lines hit deep for me and is so touching... remnants of all that we have tasted and endured... "Sacrifice has an ambience of more than just ~ pretty colors..." that sounds so wise and true and profound, a quote worthy of more than just accolades. Its always a pleasure reading you ~ sending you light always

Thank you Dear Inky, it's a shame that many of the greatest casualties of war are historic venues of peace...
