Squirrels

Spunky squirrels gather up nuts,
swiftly stashing them out of view.
In a hurry to stuff their guts,
spunky squirrels gather up nuts.
With bulging cheeks and furry butts,
you love to see them passing through.
Spunky squirrels gather up nuts,
stashing them safely out of view.

You love to see them passing through,
scampering around the garden.
And though they'll dig a hole or two,
you love to see them passing through.
Storing nuts, they'll bury a few;
before the ground starts to harden.
You love to see them passing through,
scampering around the garden.

So, if you have time in your day,
Quietly, spy on them at play.
Unafraid; they won't run away:
Instead, they tend to be quite bold.
Remember to watch, and not hold,
Rabies is something you should fear:
Enjoy them from afar, not near.
Loping along from tree to tree;
Scurrying free, for all to see.

Congratulations on POTD Emile. I love to watch squirrels. They are quite entertaining. My brother used to feed them peanuts. One little fellow actually used to knock on the window so he would come give him some nuts and he would take it right out of my brother's hands! I enjoyed your creative combination. 7 ; )

Congratulations Emile for POTD honors. Just pray the littles buggers don't get in your attic and gnaw on your wires and generally make a mess of anything you have stored there...just saying.

Thanks Charlie, they can be a handful at times, but their cuteness outweighs their naughty side most of the time, Emile.

EP. Everything ducks and geese do eat seems to pass through them for sure. That they end up having to endure. Before they all start to wobble, each one starts out with a baby bottle. jth

Whao! This is astonishing, poet Emile is a prophet. This brings back the picture of the two squirrels I saw today as they lope from a nearby palm tree to another. The imagery is magical, a 7 soup rating surely.

Thanks Jan, I didn't know you had no squirrels...that's a pity, they can be quite delightful with their comical antics...I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year my friend, Emile.
