I teach Pre school age children and wrote this song I sing with them each year. I play my ukulele and they seem to enjoy it!
Squirm the Germ Vs.1 There’s a germ, his name is Squirm, he lives inside our head, and when we cough or sneeze or wheeze, he jumps right out instead! So….. (Point to your head, then use both hands wide open to show how the germs will jump out) Chorus Cover your cough! (make cough noise into the crook of your arm.) Cover your sneeze! (make sneeze noise into crook of your arm) There’s no need to make others get sick!(waggle your index finger back and forth in a “no,no” gesture) Cover your cough! Cover your sneeze! It’s a really cool, stay healthy, tip! Yea! (hold two thumbs up) Vs2. Well, when that germ gets on my hands, no matter what I do, The only way to make him go is water and soap too! (use hand motions that mimik hand washing) That squirmy germ just hates it! He thinks it’s such a pain! He squirms and gags and jumps right off, and washes down the drain!(Make funny “yuk” faces and twirling motion with your finger as if going down the drain) Chorus Sooo...Cover your cough! Cover your sneeze! There’s no need to make others get sick. Cover your cough! Cover your sneeze! It’s a really cool, stay healthy, tip! Yea! Vs3. And when that germ gets in my nose, yes, right inside my snout…(point to your nose) I want to use my finger, to dig that germie out! ( mimic nose picking) But, I really shouldn’t do that, it will spread that germ about, so I will grab a tissue, and blow that booger out!(mimic blowing your nose into a tissue) Chorus sooo...Cover your cough! Cover your sneeze! There’s no need to make others get sick. Cover your cough! Cover your sneeze! It’s a really cool…..stay healthy….TIP! YEA MAN!
