Spun
I spun a web of words today;
A tale that few could tell.
To ease your breaking burdened heart
Before our last farewell.
I held you for a moment more
Within a web of lies.
I told you I would be just fine
And to close your worried eyes.
I spun a web of words today
Before our time was done
And watched you as you slipped away
Along with the words I’d spun.
