Springtime Rebirth

A day wherein to wake warm sun to drench, while it hangs temptingly reaching nature's ravenous hunger only sun doth quench. As warm in wild or tame heart leal creatures. Benign spring upon buds slowly open, sweeping gold hay-field and purple loosestrife, songs among branches, cool wind unspoken sounds descend on restoration of life. A wee girl in white chiffon Easter dress, flower hat with embroidery and lace. Dulcet music ring throughout the church, bless celebration of life and loving grace. Spring and Easter bring forth new life from death. Jesus resurrection, in heaven's breath. 3/13/2019 Poetry Contest: Spring sonnet Sponsored by: John Hamilton Loosestrife is a common name for plants within two different genera: Lythrum- Lysimachia leal- loyal and honest.

Hi Eve, a beautiful sonnet and Easter poem ! Easter eggs represent the resurrection of our Lord, and the bunny/hare who delivers the Easter eggs represents fertility - the birth of Spring, when plants and trees once again become alive. Best wishes for the contest Eve. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.
