Angular sunlight danced on the placid waters of the steel-gray lake. Those waters damned up upon picturesque farm are for cattle and their plentiful young calves to drink. Not only one such farm along our route to a restaurant where we'll eat a late lunch. We passed through countryside dotted with multi-shaded green trees in early leaf, shrubs in the same stage of development, and flowers in bud or bloom. The dogwoods are nearly in full blossom, redbuds lovely lavender, only outdone by the peach orchards in full bloom, in spots white iris lovely, delicate petals reach for every ray of spring's sunbeams. Small garden plots ploughed for years, maybe even centuries still exist on some of these farms.
deep furrows
in spring's garden....
my love for you
All along the way sometimes with every few yards, maybe then a few miles, there is something new to see revealing the good earth once again coming alive. Much more precious is the beauty which God has given to man since our captivity in our homes because of the highly contagious virus. How blessed am I to have a nice view from my kitchen window which opens doors to life in a different form.

mud dabbing birds nest
I will be able to enjoy this bird family all spring and into summer as they care for the eggs, then the young, and then see the fledglings leave an empty nest. Now the male stays close only leaving to get food. He will be on a limb on the ground from the last storm, then on the birdbath, or a little farther away on the fence with a bug in his beak.
spider lilies grow
rain lilies' leaves emerge....
candle moth seeks light
At the end of a lovely spring day.
