Spring Will Return
A blizzard blew with intense ferocity,
shattered my warm tiny home I loved.
I took shelter alone in a dark cold hole,
as snow covered the trees and the ground.
Everything is now frozen still around me,
I am a captive of the harsh chilled season.
In the immovable congealed life I suffer,
hoping the severe winter is not forever.
Surely, spring will return with splendor soon,
the glowing sun will then melt all the snow,
new glossy leaves will sprout in bare trees,
the faded garden will bloom flaming flowers.
In the bright flushing hours of spring dawn,
I will hum the tune of the spectral sunburst,
keep the rhythm of the new found delight
within the closet of my silken scarlet breast.
The smoky mist will disappear from the air,
the clear sky will sparkle with azure luster.
I will fly free, sing the song of spring there,
as the songbird robin coming from the cold.
