Spring Tableau

Comes spring abound-in'
With showy blossoms
Swinging to and fro
Waving in breezes
Like newborn puppies
Wagging happy tails
[I have no idea how to get a picture to accompany this here or how to install it. Sorry.]

This is such a spot-on, adorable simile, Milt! I'm wagging my tail over it, man... Congrats on your win in the contest. Happy Spring, Gershon

Thanks, Paul. I enjoyed writing this tableau. It's an interesting project, trying to write six lines with five syllables in each line on a single, narrow topic. I wanted to give a thumbnail sketch of the beginning of spring.

Love the dynamic movement in your tableau - just like spring! This is joyful, happy and just plain uplifting fun! Congratulations on your win!

This is a fabulous poem, you don't need a picture. It's quite a few steps. Really enjoyed the tableau ~ Mala

Aw, thanks so much. Malabika, I really appreciate your kind and thoughtful words. Technology leaves me blank!

"like newborn puppies wagging happy tails" - this is so true of certain blossoms - daffodils for sure! Getting a photo on this site is so many steps, I do not bother.

I feel the same here. I want the attention paid to the writing, not to some illustration. Although, I enjoy what other folks do with pictures and illustrations. Just not for me. I am techno-deficient.

For pictures you have to use Control plus V, something like that. My regular copy/paste does not work.

Thanks for the help, Andrea. I'll play around with it. I'm a klutz at some of this technical stuff. Wish me luck; I'll need it.

This is so adorable. I have not checked out this contest yet. Can't wait. Videos, they explain it at the bottom of where you submit things. Sometimes I am actually able to figure it out myself!

My apologies, Milton. I thought a humorous poem on Bach to a Bach lover was apropos. My all-time favorite mass is Mozart's (or whoever finished it) last requiem; followed by Verdi's, followed by Beethoven's. / Maurice

Cute little write. Just one small suggestion: in your fifth line, the correct plural form of "puppy" is "puppies". Good luck with this entry.

Thanks for your correction, Robert. I knew that, but I guess it just slipped my mind. I fixed it.
