Spring Melt

As water melts and seeps
arousing new growth
warmth penetrates the frozen soil
as new petals break ground
early spring is full of blossoms
looking for the warmth of sun
the misty morning dew hangs
heavily upon the ground
the chill of the evening
prevents fast growth
each year the process of regeneration
as winter turns to spring again.

Hello Phyllis … it’s marvellous that after possibly thousands of generations, plants have adapted to their harsh environment and we enjoy their beauty after spending winters close to a fire or gas heating - thank you Phyllis - Lindsay

It is a beautiful cycle of nature to behold, Phyllis! We are blessed to have a change of seasons. In spring, it gets foggy here near the ocean. Summer will arrive all too soon. Enjoyed your lovely poem! Hugs, carolyn

Hi Andrea yes I too have not been on much and winter has been long this year. I can now sit out on the deck and get a little sun and maybe that will be a pick me up. You are one busy gal and good luck on subbing. love phyl

Hi Jan nice to see your name it has been a little while. I have not been on much and winter has been a bit depressing for me. This not being to visit one another sure has put a damper on us. Hope you are keeping well. love phyl
