Spooky Season

It's the spooky season
Just before Halloween.
All our favourite horror movies
Are waiting to be seen.

Each night is a fright fest
For those of us who like a scare.
Watch them with the lights out,
That is, if you dare.

There are zombies and psychos,
Werewolves and vampires.
A huge assortment by Stephen King,
Like Drew Barrymore starting fires.

Some are old, in black and white.
Some are newly released.
Some are from other planets.
Some are the walking deceased.

Yes, it's the spooky season
And each channel has it's share
Of our best loved horror movies
To give us all a scare.

I used to love spooky movies when I was young. They are just too scary for me these days. Congrats on your 3rd place win, Francine! Kim

Why the fascination with the macabre? Not me. I live alone. Congratulations on your win. Love, Joyce

I can just see Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, Vincent Price, et al up on the screen. You have described everything poetically well in this offering.

this was a fun read. I am not a fan of Halloween. All of those ghost and goblins milling about. I do enjoy a good scary movie and I am leery of things that bump me in the night.

Halloween is a spooky time Francine, but one the children certainly enjoy. I remember I always did when I was a child. The candy was the thing that I liked, as we didn't get much when my sisters and I were children. Agape, Moses

So true, Francine! Even some TV series like NCIS have been showing episodes related to Halloween. I think I have seen enough werewolves and vampires, though, so these movies I avoid. Great write for Halloween! Love, Carolyn
