Spontaneity

Spontaneity 2-28-24
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Spontaneity
Arthritic inertia,
Absent of the Prime Mover,
Bursts into astral fireflies of serendipity
Coloring outside deliberate
Past ebony links in tangerine comets
 In outbursts of the unplanned ad-lib
Flicks of incandescent glory
 And slivers of glee,
  Like dolphins leaping or whales breaching
   Into the spontaneous’ ephemeral sparkle,
Ignite gusts of rumbling grace
 Rushing past anxious spirals,
  Sneaking past solemn's gates,
   In explosions of uncontained whimsy -
As springs of roiling combustions
Split life draining millstones,
And rock musty routines that shuffle
 Bathing the unsmiling dower dirge
  With thunder dancing across sullen waters
To christen spontaneity’s godchild
 With new robes of unrehearsed mirth
  And a dedicated named -
 Laughter!
Came to know about the poems from soup mail. The last stanza, I feel is the crux and here the play of alliteration and words are exactly merging in confluence. Regards
Hi Lasaad! So very grateful for your truly thoughtful reading of this poem! It can be quite a challenge to put a well known concept like spontaneity into poetic images without using tired phrases or cliches! Had such fun working with this concept. I am thrilled the phrases and images spoke to you with depth and "dimension." Thank you, dear friend. Spontaneous blessings of joy and laughter to you!
Sam, I love how you paint pictures with your words and around your words. There’s an almost 3D quality about your work and it’s on show here. Cheers - Gary
Hi Gary! Thank you so much for your thoughtful compliments! Love the thought that the imagery becomes like a 3-D image. Sending you blessings and cheers!
