Splendor

I
am
a new
verse. A
New Page
My silver tongue
so full of his love that
I
am
a Phoenix
who's world caught
Afire
and I did not see the
Change until
my fingertips were covered
in the ashes
I coughed up the smoke
from my internal smoulder
and this gift from god is a surprise
I am caught in its wonder.
For a second chance is not a promise
but
an all encompassing splendor
