Spiritually Dead

Evil shadows us in dark clouds.
Silence can often seem so loud.
They say, "When it rains it pours."
Hatred so intense feeding this spiritual war.
Death places shackles on us to become human slaves.
      Cemeteries constantly filling up graves.
Nightmares cause me to toss and turn in my bed.
You can not save the spiritually dead.

Evil feeds off this worlds insanity and poverty.
      The pain remains religiously.
Such a horrible place we live in.
Spending taxes on wars we can't win.
I can hear the screams in the night from fighting men.
Why does this country make other's problems our own?
When it only brings disappointments and turmoil into our home.
All we see is the result of blood shed.
Our government is spiritually dead.

Evil has a smiling face with racist eyes.
Words that leave a bitter taste, and those living a lie.
You claim you're my friend, but I see the devil in your grin.
The malice has been in the hearts of men since time began.
Darkness eats away at my soul like the plague,
Stops my heart, corrupts the thoughts in my head,
Leaving me spiritually dead.

Yes we can become spiritually dead and each person has that responsibility for themselves no one can do that for you but one can have a mentor or guide. Keep writing for you have put some provocative thoughts out there. Keep writing. Sara
