When December stills souls with its quiver, Erasing shadows who make life bitter. Warm hearths silence the heart’s crispy shiver, Stardust blesses with joy like soft glitter, Wonders who December will deliver. Frost’s quickening is no counterfeiter. Where Winter hastens are soft glowing skies. Home to cardinals praising with their cries. When December whispers on graying nights, Promising its secrets shall grow inside, Where the soul will remember sweet insights, Gentle lights unfading can’t be denied. Singing to lithe Autumn – her last rites. Writing poetry of faith who’ll abide. In a sweet voice, her splendor will remind… December welcomes peace who can spellbind. When December stirs the moon to glowing, Stars play across the night, dazzling desires, Leaving the heart with love overflowing, Twilight drifts across dreams, troubling wildfires Calming words of hope from an all knowing, He cast the stars on skies, never tiring, December brings Christmas, the birth of love, Sent to our spirits from heaven above!

The imagery introduced the beauty of winter, but the ending shared with us the eternal blessings of the birth of Love. Beautiful poetry, Gina. I want to congratulate you on having two poems published in the latest Poetry Soup Anthology! YEAH !!! I also want to wish you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving! Smiles ~ Blessings Bill

you've captured the true beauty and essence of December--a quiet month full of its own wonder and delight. Your imagery touched my heart..."troubling wildfires" is just one of many examples. I love the subtle metaphor within these words: When December whispers on graying nights, Promising its secrets shall grow inside," so many meanings to those lines. Thanks for sharing your spirit and creativity here on Poetry Soup. Have a lovely evening, Sara

You make the month sound wonderful. If only I could muster your enthusiasm for December. For me, it is just cold and snowy.

Love the rhymes and you have created real December imagery here.. I really liked the opening four lines to your final stanza.. When December stirs the moon to glowing, Stars play across the night, dazzling desires, Leaving the heart with love overflowing, Twilight drifts across dreams, troubling wildfires.. Although I think people in Australia and South Africa would have a very different December lol..

Indeed, Gina, December is a harbinger for the "birth of love" welcoming "peace" and "warm hearths." There is so much to savor, like a Christmas stocking" in each of your lines!" If this is for a contest I send you best wishes for a win. It is truly a winner. Blessings, prayers and a hug, sweet friend! Happy Thanksgiving in "lithe autumn."
