Spellbound by Sunlight
the sunlight, a smart, sparkling
golden glittering beam
and I, an atom caught
in its soft, insistent rays
stand enthralled
at its sweet sedate shine
as it sinews its way
from millions of miles away
crossing infinity
bravely defying all obstacles
to kiss my forehead
the air thrums with it
a soft soothing symphony of warmth
with each dust mote waltzing
a tiny, ephemeral star
my eyelids, heavy curtains
mesmerised by an unseen hand
reveal this blinding grace
dissolved into pure light
shadows , slowly but surely retreat
surrendering silent secrets
folding back into the earth
with every breathing entity
inhaling this luminous gift
a sprawling secluded spider`s web
so sagaciously spun
between two leaves
turns to a diamond necklace
with each single sparkling strand
a captured gleam
a mesmerising scene
dazzling dew drops
tiny prisms, splintering the day
into a thousand tiny rainbows
hold the eyes spellbound
in dumb silence
my skin drinks in the shine
a thirst I didn't know I had
quenched by this
celestial nectar
while my bones hum
a low, resonant chord
attuned to this sweet solar song
I am held awestruck
captivated not by chains
but by this boundless
beautiful shine
a willing prisoner
of this radiant
unfolding hour
the weight of the world
for a while wanes away
substituted by the sheer
abundance of being
in this graceful light
I am no longer just me
but an integral part of this
golden, invasive shine
this ceaseless
shimmering tide
in this sacred, solemn, silent
shimmering expanse
I find a stillness
a quietude, a peace
a profound understanding
of what it means
to simply be
spellbound by sunlight.
