These pictures were taken by my husband. The keyhole shaped monument is called Milner’s Tower which is on Bradda Head and it is in this area where our ashes are eventually scattered.

Jan! Congratulations - for your POTD (I wasn't part of the soup at the time) and for your win in the contest. There is a depth and double meaning here that is unmistakable through your picture of calm serenity! hugs and smiles :)

Thanks so much Donna - this Island is our home and it's where my ashes will be scattered - the top picture is so so stunning and i have it on my PC desktop and it is even more gorgeous on a larger scale. I am overwhelmed with the support and comment's I've had from that poem and although the event was so painful at the time I am at peace now and the poem was so cathartic to write:-) hugs Jan xx

Thanks Susan I never know if I've written a proper haiku as i struggle with the juxtaposition of the final line, my hubby put the top pic on my computer as one of my screen savers and I absolutely adore the picture, it looks even better when it fills the whole screen!:-) hugs jan xx

This is a beautiful write my friend! For some reason I can't see the pictures! But the poem speaks for itself and it is truly gorgeous! It brings about a moment of pause for the dead, and respect for all those that left before too! I really enjoyed reading your illustrious poem here this morning! What a positively wondrous piece, Great Work!!

Love the ku...love the photos...moving water...tho upper Midwest...we associate also with spirits of moving water, my friend...my favorite Minnesota places...the "real" Mississippi Headwaters (as journalled by Chief Ozawindib, Schoolcraft's guide) my girls & I found (and drank from!) and the shores of Gitchee Gumi (Lake Superior)
