Spectacular Sunrise
For 2017, I felt inspired to read all the Books of the Prophets. Books like Isaiah, Jeremia, Daniel, Ezechial, etc. As presently, for 24 hours non-stop, we were being fed news and information, politics and propaganda. My greatest desire was to hear the 'voice of God' as spoken through the prophets. I found them to be both forward and fearless. I found them to be obedient and obsessed with the truth, and not popularity.
For 2018, I will prayerfully tune my ears and turn my eyes toward the scriptures to see and hear what God is saying to the church. With prayerful anticipation, I shall be inspired by the expectation of a spectacular sunrise of spiritual fortunes and goodwill. From the books of John, Jude, and Revelation, I will read, muse, and meditate, seeking to 'soak it all in like a sponge.
Throughout this year I shall seek to observe the church in a special way and listen for that clarion voice ignited by The Lord. Indeed, the church has something fresh to say; and I believe that the church as a unified and cohesive unit will speak it boldly.
