Special Child's Milestones

Peace triumphs over my heart
as I behold my dear special child does his best part
          against spastic attacks' blight
               learning through sign language delight
                    manifesting blissful countenance with smile
                         brightened with advancement style
                              radiant with hope's glow
                                   midst vibrant milestones' show
                                        along God's power and grace*
                                             progressing despite debility-case.

Indeed, this pattern I see in him pleasantly
with the Lord's compassion at work miraculously
while divine mercy soothes his woes gently
and together we pray, thanking Christ joyously.

*2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
