Speak Up

speak up
life is not fair
women are discounted
not equal in so many ways
speak up

speak up
life is difficult
seasoned workers are invisible in the work place
ignored and bullied
speak up

speak up
life is hard
generalizing people by race, religion and political party
takes away their individuality
speak up

I spoke up a few times, someone called me a nasty name, someone else said I was right; but, "the squeaky wheel..." Good advice.

I want everyone to speak up. Fear keeps us silent sometimes which is why bullies often "win".

Yes indeed! Too much silence when we know something's not right is not good :)

People should be tolerant, but never of injustice. Your poem has a message that should be heeded, and then, hopefully, more will speak up. Nicely done, Caren. :)

Women as you say still take a back seat, but not so many anymore - one can't generalize, I respect a person at face value and intellect, no matter where they come from no matter their gender or political beliefs in this global village, I never discriminate. Hope all will do the same. Well penned my friend, who writes so well about any topic. Hugs and blessings,
