Spark To Flame

Let the voice within speak
Its better to let it shriek
Let the world sneak a peek
At the beauty resting within
A jewel shining underneath.

Release your inner glow
Let it shine so its known
Don't let the flame be blown
May it sprinkle like snow.

Shadows may snicker
Darkness might creep
Knawing at your bones
Stroking your spine to quiver.

Hands of despair reach out
Claws of pain try to cut
Fangs of sorrow want to bite
To rid the light that protects.

Yet you keep your ground
Looking through the veil
Holding hope close to heart
Faith embodies you.

Your spark grows stronger
Growing from an ember
To a ferocious flame
Scaring the shadows away.

The spark that rests within
That shard of determination
Splinter of will power
Flint of courage.

Take that flint
Keep striking it
To keep that flame
Burning bright within

As long as there's spark
There is always flame
Dreams and courage
That burn from within.
