South Oz
I’m just an ordinary Adelaidian
Who lived and worked until day’s end
I have seen things come and go
And really loved the show
I always bought Holdens made
In Elizabeth and never dismayed
As a kid I drunk Woodies lemonade
And loved eating Amscol ice cream first grade
Glenelg beach was for sunny days
When the North wind blew the heat our way
And Windy Point is a blustery viewpoint
For twinkling lights at fairyland anoints
Adelaide Oval is for cricket and football
So exciting I have seen it all
The fishing in the gulf was first class
And gully winds and sea breezes refresh at last
Where else would you want to be
The moon over the gulf at sea
And when they finally lay me down
Let it be on the Adelaide Plain on sacred ground.
