Soup Creek Forever

We’ve had some run ins with the admin and Tommy Boy as well,
and the blunder from down under, who forever seemed to smell.
We’ve been chastised and cursed, some have even called us names,
others have hit us from behind with their silly childish games.

We’ve been banished from this site and made to recite each rule,
some have treated us unfairly and have even been quite cruel.
We’ve been shunned by many poets, who have never known the truth,
many more have been the target, of the ones long in the tooth.

Now let us do some math, and see just how this works,
exactly why this site exists and what they get for perks.
Whenever we post a poem, or some lyrics for a song,
each view gives them a hit, but with zero they get the gong.

They get our annual membership and lifetimes paid in full,
don’t forget the advertisers, we are forced to read their bull.
Whenever you have a poet with a ton of poems and views,
just be sure to judge them fairly and never ignore the clues.

Oh, Mark you don't know the half of it, I've been here 13 years now, and we have lost some brilliant poets, through having opinions which admin did not like. Being i seem to be well behind the play here, these days, didn't know about Jenna till well after the event, but i feared we were going to lose another gem of a poet. So glad she back though. i myself posted a blog once nearly got me kicked off the site. the blog was only there 10 minutes then gone, no democracy here.

The soup does seem poisoned lately, not sure who the top cooks are but they need to look at the ingredients more closely! Well penned Mark!

Oh you know the old adage ‘justice is blind’ well here is living proof, only not in the impartial context it was intended, not even an appeals process? a fine poem Mark, cheers David

Innocence is it's own reward, but those who rage against unrighteousness should not be the victims. This particular combination of being banned during a time of heartfelt sorrow borders on cruel and unusual.

It was very unfair how they handled it, that’s for sure. I think some of the admin people have their favorites and forget that this is a business and a certain level of professionalism needs to be shown.

You're right on all accounts, Mark. I was a paid member for years, which gave me the right to post pictures with my poetry. When I didn't renew it, admin. removed EVERY picture I'd posted for years. I fail to see how that could be legal. If you pay for something, it should belong to you. There are many glitches on the site, but the worst one at the moment is the unfair way in which innocent poets are punished, while the guilty suffer no consequences. Thank you for making valid points.

Thanks for your concern, Anaya. My poems were not removed, just the pictures that accompanied them. To delete them when we paed for that privilege is terribly wrong.

Lin, I hope you had copies in your personal files, you just never know! Thank you for posting this, I was wondering why I saw empty large frames above some poems out there.

Thank you Lin! I’m sorry to hear about all of your pictures, that doesn’t seem quite right. I’m still not sure why Jenna and I got banned from the site while the other party did not. There must be a little favoritism going on because it is not professional behavior at all.
