Sounds Within

Some people go it alone, never considering whether it was right or wrong. Perhaps they deem themselves Superman, but I have never been that strong.

Sometimes we start out in the dark, and the path gets lighter as we go step by step. But even in such steps, I need someone within or God above to say, "It's

okay to proceed". I also believe in accepting advice, counsel, guidance, and in listening to the wise opinions of others. Of course, in the final analysis, it's my

responsibility to live with the choices I've made. Some people who may be professed atheists are also made in the image of God and are therefore

possessors of a God-consciousness whether acknowledged or not. The animal
kingdom is provided remarkable instincts, but humans are endowed with so

much more. No, I have never heard the audible voice of God, and I'm not really sure that I would want to. But yes, though not audible, I do hear His

whispering voice of assurance that 'puts me in the know'. And yes, God has also placed something within me, a witness bearer, that provides 'an inner

knowing. There are various ways that this 'inner knowing' could be defined and described via the Scriptures, but I'm not interested in becoming theological

nor am I suggesting I possess any special connections. That inner knowing is sometimes the sum total of good teaching, good parenting, and faith in God.

We need not be renowned nor deemed profound to be within the circle of knowledge. Just being alive and human will suffice.
