Sound of Midnight

Mouth dry, drenched in sweat Try to find balance Blood boiling, thoughts rolling It came to this, it came to this Don't want to pin up stars anymore I watch the waves recede It chills me to the bone To know you're gone We walked through fire But you never burned I saw the fractures Growing deeper all the time Until you finally broke And the sound It was the sound of midnight The sound of midnight Legs weak, arms broken Trying to find peace In the shimmering lake It came to this, it came to this I can't find peace anymore Because you were the only one I could be weak around You were my peace We walked through fire But I never burned I saw the fractures Growing deeper all the time Until I finally broke And the sound It was the sound of midnight The sound of midnight Don't want to leave Don't want to leave Midnight is so lonely Don't want to leave Please don't make me leave To the sound of midnight We walked through fire But we never learned We saw the fractures Growing deeper all the time Until we finally broke And the sound It was the sound of midnight The sound of midnight
