Soul Decision

Withdrawn from this world; want not to awake.
Lucid dream; heavenly search for a sign.
If not for my good, Lord; preserve hells sake.
Give to me a reason; prove you’re divine.

Anything; even a serpent in tree.
Created equally; Adam and Eve?
I'm asking why you aren't talking to me.
Faith? You mean for me to blindly believe?

Back and forth battle; trapped inside my mind!
Humanity versus eternity!
'Tis foolish to think the two are entwined!
Yet, I wish for proof of paternity!

Belief in either gives life a purpose;
Life without meaning is surely worthless.

I believe that you are right. I have come to know God since writing this and I now know that my purpose is to love and honor him. Thank you for your time to read and comment on my poem. It means a lot.

A wonderful and intriguing write Dill. Your last two lines are so insightful and left me lingering over their wisdom... Enjoyed!
