Sorry
You say you’re sorry
To her starry lit eyes
Underneath the blue, blue skies
You say you’re sorry
But sorry doesn’t help
No matter what you do
It will all come back to you
The happy
The sad
The fun
The bad
You say you’re sorry
But she still cries
For she knows she won’t be able to look into your eyes
You say you’re sorry
But sorry won’t cure a broken heart
You’ll still be friends if she agrees
But she doesn’t want to
She won’t be able to handle it
She says she’s sorry
It doesn’t help
You’ll miss her and you know that
But you move on
And take whatever life gives
You think you’ll never forget that bad night
You’re both sorry
But you won’t see each other the way you use to
You’ll be sorry for the rest of your life
But life moves on
And you forget
Until one day when you meet again
You’ll be happy, you both will
Then you say those two words
The same words that got you into this mess
“I’m sorry”
This time it’s different though
You can’t let each other be
You think “We’re made for each other… but how can it be?”
For the time you were apart
It brought you closer together
And the words I’m sorry
Are a thing of the past
For now you say those three special words
“I love you”
