Sonnet On the Doubters
(This is called Double Rhyming Sonnet. The front of
the lines also rhyme abab, etc.)
Oh, who can say when time began or ends?
The universe engulfs all creatures here.
But you can see how sun’s glow ever blends
to moonlight in time’s never ending sphere.
And when you think our world has learned it all,
new cosmic truths emerge to show man’s fate,
so then you realize we are so small. . . . .
but jaws of everlastingness await!
They gape, and though you see no end in sight;
you think that all is finished when we die?
Escape from dreary earth means taking flight.
A wink is time spent here! You won’t deny,
when face to face with God, that life’s not done!
In space of endless grace, it’s just begun.
