Sonnet 2

I have come to know no power greater than this love,
Sharper than any double edged spear Ares has ever thrown
Like the olive branch tight in the beak of a white dove
Love has changed the face of the world more than any Indian stone;
It beats all of the wisdom that has grown on Athena's branch
It has no face yet her visage is the most popular of any deity
Speaks in any language and colour that lives on earth's ranch
And looks deeper than the eye to see hidden aureity;
Love is the dew drops on the ever green leaf of morning
Tickling the tree to sweet daylight and the bells of feast
Like the bitter set of the eye of heaven in the evening
Promising the world that it will forever rise at the east.
Love is the freedom that only you have to accept,
Which we best drink up or all will be windswept.
