Sonnet 17 'Joy, Joy You Are Yourself and Smiling, Too'
Joy... JOY! You are YOURSELF, and SMILING, TOO!
I'd feared you'd not return, but... HERE YOU ARE!
O! I could dance, and spin, KISS you anew,
For, out of a void Heaven, God saved a Star!
The skies sing praises on your humble head!
You RECOGNIZE me, and your words make SENSE!
You'd promised me disaster, you had said,
'I won't be coming out again, the fence...
Will keep me here, all my remaining days!'
But, 'twasn't true! (My veins are bursting, too!)
I didn't think I'd laugh -- to see you smile
I rather thought our new life would turn Blue,
Morose, and keep me visiting for long while!
O! JOY! For fear to BE WRONG! DOUBT TO FAIL!
'Twas for such cause, that Christ did bear the nail!
