Song For a Bee
You want to reach out
And touch her
To stroke her golden fur
But no,
This one fights back
She isn’t yours.
She’s hers and hers alone.
She’ll sting you for your efforts
So look but please,
Don’t touch.
You caused the cricket to take flight
You broke the butterfly’s wing
You cracked the beetle’s armor
But the bee you know,
She stings.
