Listen to poem:

Sometimes, It Takes Some Time-Song Version

Sometimes

Sometimes...
we are born, with big dreams
Sometimes...
we are born with none
Sometimes...
the money comes too easy
Sometimes...
some never have enough

Chorus
Sometimes...
sometimes it takes, some time
some day...
our dreams may all come true
Sometimes... it takes, some time
to find the love for you
Sometimes... it just takes, some time

Sometimes...
our hearts, they may be broken
Sometimes,
we seek out peace and love
Sometimes...
some words are best unspoken
Sometimes...
you leave when it's too much

Chorus
Sometimes...
sometimes it takes, some time
some day...
our dreams may all come true
Sometimes... it takes, some time
to find the love for you
Sometimes... it just takes, some time

Bridge
Being apart ‘til the storm subsides
Sometimes, it just takes, some time
a little patience, to unwind
the innocence of heart and mind

Sometimes,
the cards, that we’ve been dealt with
Sometimes...
they may not be enough
Sometimes...
we’re anxious, and we worry (too much)
Sometimes...
we’re blessed, with a very tender touch

Chorus
Sometimes...
sometimes it takes, some time
some day...
our dreams may all come true
Sometimes... it takes, some time
to find the love for you
Sometimes... it just takes, some time

Finale
Sometimes, it just takes, some time
Sometimes, it just takes, some time

I totally enjoyed this musical production and I thought the catchy melody conveyed the thoughtful and somewhat melancholic mood of your lyrics beautifully, John. Great music and vocals from Pat Canavan and great lyrics by you, John. Your song is already in my head and I’m humming it to myself as I leave these comments for you - a catchy and memorable melody for sure. Warmest wishes my friend.. ~Susan
