Sometimes if we are Lucky
Sometimes if we are lucky,
We meet people who understand us,
And make sure we get on the right bus,
Who give their life over to us,
Trusting us not to throw them under a bus.
Sometimes if we are lucky,
We meet people who bring out the best in us,
Never tiring of us,
Even when we start to fuss.
Sometimes if we are lucky,
We meet people who see the real us,
And still believe in us.
Sometimes if we are really lucky,
We get to see them stress less,
Shout less,
Doubt themselves less,
As they smile more,
Laugh more,
Believe in themselves more,
And look to a brighter future more,
Because we were there when they needed us,
Living up to their trust in us,
Not to throw them under a bus.
