Sometimes I Wish I Were Stone

Why haven’t I been able to cope?
For some reason it seems like I’ve lost all hope
Unleashed on me a hurting, so I feel like a dope,
Sometimes I wish I were stone.
This agony I feel just won’t go away
Slowly I'm rotting alive day by day
Like mud at the bottom of the river silently I lay
Sometimes I wish I were stone.
I want my skin to be tough like leather
I want my heart hard, not smooth like a feather
I want to be ready, come good or bad weather
Sometimes I wish I were stone.
