Sometimes

Sometimes
All you can do
Is curl up in the fetal position
And close your eyes
And wish yourself away
To another place
To another day
To a place that safe and warm
And quiet
And just stay there and not move
For days and days and days
Until you’re strong enough
To unfold yourself
And rise up to the occasion
Of wanting to live
Another day…
And breathe.
