Somethingsaurus
Fossilized pieces past discovery’s brink
made some people
think, think, think,
of giant plant eaters in an artist’s sketch,
how their necks would
stretch, stretch, stretch.
Meat eaters hungry and looking for a fight,
ambush or chase,
bite, bite, bite.
But it took just one space rock pulled by the sun,
and their time was
done, done, done.
They may have to stay in studios and screens
if we can’t find
genes, genes, genes.
Dino from Bedrock, Godzilla from Japan,
imagine it
can, can, can.
What a purple T-Rex from Texas would bring,
and how he could
sing, sing, sing.
From a land before time filled with Ducky’s pep,
good to the last
yep, yep, yep.
