Something Seemingly Insignificant and Unexpected Changed My Life - Poetry Contest

Something Seemingly Insignificant and Unexpected Changed My Life Poetry Contest I was gratefully raised in a talented musical family, Chords and B-sharps were heard many times, Such beautiful memories full of sweet melodies, While I sat in my room writing my own rhymes. One day in high school I decided to flip a coin, On which instrument should I learn to play? It was between the guitar and tuba horn, Little did I know my heart would change that day. I chose the guitar to take my soul on a flight, A sounding board echoing through my essence, I knew instantly my winsome decision I made was right, So I worked hard and took delightful guitar lessons. I learned harmonies soaring my gifts high to the sky, As I still held my precious love to become a poetess, I created compositions of songs, made mamma cry, I knew from me she wouldn’t expect anything less. Euphonies were conceived using God given gifts, Lyrics with rhymes written out of my love for life, Added to my heartfelt verses were my guitar rifts’, For I know deep down I’ve never felt so freely alive. From a small coin was born a natural way of living, I became a lyricist writing melodies dear to my spirit, For now, I am a versifier with my soul’s songs given, My quintessence spreads my words for all to hear it. to me, everything important comes out of stuff that we have no idea is important in that moment. that's what I find so difficult about this challenge

Is it you in the picture. I LOVE guitar!! But did not take it up till my 40's so it was kind of hard for me. I practiced my heart out daily for two years and never got as good as I hoped to be. To this day, I have not performed it for my students and I think I forgot more than half what I learned SO depressing!!!
