Something New
What shall I write today?
Tanka, ninette, a lay?
The new form inviting,
it is so exciting!
Plan an outline or scheme,
then, a general theme.
Select a photograph –
warm my heart, cry, or laugh?
Take an erratic walk –
invite birds, plants to talk.
I conjure in my mind
all the words that I find.
The quiescent pen gone,
my creative game on!
