Something Different This Time

Something different happened this time
on this year's Women's Day
We worshipped, we praised and sang songs
as the Holy Spirit in us moved and swayed

Today we have our 1st Black female VP
and soon a Supreme Court Justice as well
Something different is happening in America
as the sovereign spirit of the Lord now swells

Now Hannah couldn't bear a child
and Peninnah mocked her infertility
But Hannah kept on praying to God
in spite of all the animosity
A demonic triangulation was choking Hannah
and causing her much despair
Between the devil, Peninnah and all the hate
Hannah couldn't wait to get out of there

When demonic agitation and aggravation show up
that's when as Black women we must unify
As there's nothing we can't accomplish
if we stand together and work side by side
Yes we know it all begins at home
and by the words that we do speak
But something different can come about
if divine revelation and conversation is what we now seek

As it will change our outlook as well
as our perspective and perception in this life
No we won't take flight but stay and fight
against the contempt, the hate and the strife
And no we can't let rejection, disrespect
and negative attitudes
Steal our joy, damage and destroy
our godly altitudes

Something different can happen this time
If we simply to God just pray
And allow the sovereignty of God
to simply have its way

So fight thru your tears while living under the influence of the spirit
and don't ever waste your words
Know in your heart that something different will happen this time
when your prayers to God are acknowledged and heard
